The Wedding

by Wilfred Bereswill

Well, the wedding is over, the presents are open and the happy couple is jetting to Mexico for the honeymoon.  And I'm friggin' exhausted.  Everything went fantastic.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a short blog about trying to prepare the wedding speech and the difficulty in finding the right words.  Well, for your pleasure, here is the speech compliments of my new Flip Video Camera.

WARNING!  it's almost 8 minutes long.

Oh Will, that was so lovely -- poignant, funny and celebratory all at the same time! Loved seeing your new son-in-law nodding as he absorbed your words of wisdom. Congratulations on a great toast -- and a wonderful life passage for your family!

What a gorgeous couple!

Will, your speech was great. I knew you could do it!

Thanks Pat & Joyce. I got a bit of a rocky start since I was planning on introducing myself and the DJ did it. There were a couple of places where I struggled to get through it.

I should have taken today off. I'm hoping to make it through the day.

My wife woke at 4 AM to drive Kelly and Adam to the airport for their honeymoon.

What a beautiful couple, Will! You have to be so proud. Your speech was perfect and I loved when you spoke about your daughter's satisfied grin of accomplishment. That was great!
Congratulations, again!

Thanks Jemi and Laurissa.

The dress was stunning and it's interesting that nobody even noticed that she didn't wear a veil.

Plus we had a rather beautiful day for an outdoor wedding, considering it was a July day in St. Louis. It was about 87 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. The outdoor wedding venue was shaded in greenery and nobody sweated too badly.

Jennie,
Finally there will be a little extra testosterone in the house from time to time.

Good speech, Wil. I couldn't help being reminded of that scene in "Twilight" where Bella brings Edward home for the first time and Charlie is cleaning his rifle. Little did he know that vampires aren't succeptible to normal bullets.
