BAAM!

By Paula Matter

BAAM?

Bad Ass Author Marathon?

Big As A Mountain?

Be An Accomplished Mother?

Breaking Away And More?
Basic Administration & Management?

Bachelor of Arts, Applied  Music?

Nope, none of the above. And it has nothing to do with Chef Emeril Lagasse either.

BAAM stands for Blogging Agent Appreciation Month. (Originally, it was going to be Blogging Agent Appreciation Day, but that didn't turn out so well.)

One day last week I read of an agent who has decided to stop blogging. I thought about it and realized that there have been a few in the last year or so who have stopped.

Thanksgiving may be over, but I'm thankful every day. Some days I have to work at finding something to be thankful for, but I always manage to do so. On this day, the first (only?) day of BAAM, I am thankful for all of the agents who continue to share their insight, opinions, feedback and wisdom. For free, no less.

Below is a list of awesome agents who blog. Seventeen of them! I'm sure there are more and I hope you'll share with the rest of us. For now I'd like to let these 17 know how much I appreciate them for taking the time to blog. Please go visit their site today and thank them if you agree.

You may notice there are a couple of names of people who've left agenting. Doesn't matter, trust me. Their blogs are worth a visit.

This has been flying around the Internet lately, and in case there's someone out there who hasn't see it, take a moment to watch. Then go thank an agent who blogs.

Great idea, Paula. (Although I don't need any more sites to procrastin...I mean read for research.)

I love that little video. It should be required viewing.

I love that video. Had it posted on my Facebook page for a while. Even my foul-humored hubby got a chuckle out of it.

Great idea, Paula!

Great blogs. It can get frustrating when even some of these agents disagree on certain points. I follow them but also try to keep an open mind. And also try to keep in mind the specific agents I will be querying.

That video had me in stitches!

There's also Rachelle Gardner, who's awesome. She reps Christian authors, so not an agent for everyone - and possibly no one here - but her blog is great, and full of information.

Joyce, you're absolutely right. That video should be required viewing.

Yep, Annette, I had it on my FB page, too. It's hilarious. Glad your hubby liked it!

Charli, sounds like you're going about this the right way. Good luck when it comes time to query!

Jennie, no way could I have left out Rachelle! She's #6 on the list. She's closed to queries in Dec., and she does take some non-Christian work. She's great!

Nice idea, Paula. I wonder if these agents will be stymied by the sudden appearance of appreciative guests?

That video is going to be the death of me. I have watched it 600 times, and I am breathless with laughter each time.
